Market heatmap

Each tile is a Binance USDT perpetual. Size: 24h volume. Click a tile to open the coin.

Funding colors: red is high positive funding (crowded longs), green is negative funding (crowded shorts). The map describes the past day and positioning; it is not a signal.

Crypto market heatmap: see the whole futures market at a glance

The heatmap draws every large Binance USD-M USDT perpetual as a tile. The size of a tile is its 24-hour trading volume in dollars, so Bitcoin and Ethereum take the biggest areas and thin altcoins shrink to small squares. The colour shows how the coin moved over the last 24 hours: green for a rise, red for a fall, grey for little change, stronger colour for a bigger move. You can show 30, 60, 100 or 150 coins and click any tile to open that coin on its overview page.

A second mode colours the tiles by the funding rate instead. Funding is the periodic payment between long and short holders. Red means high positive funding, which usually means many traders are long and pay to stay long; green means negative funding, where shorts are crowded. The legend under the map shows the colour scale. Data come from public Binance endpoints and refresh every minute; no keys are used.

What the map is good for, and what it is not

A heatmap is a fast way to see whether a move is market-wide or limited to a few coins, whether large coins are leading, and where positioning looks stretched. It answers where the market was over the last day, not where it will go next. A sea of green does not mean prices will keep rising, and crowded funding can resolve in either direction. Treat the map as context for deciding where to look closer, then use the coin overview, the trend table and your own risk rules.

Questions and answers

What do the tile sizes mean?

The area is proportional to the coin's 24-hour trading volume in dollars on Binance USD-M futures.

Is a red or green map a trading signal?

No. It describes the past 24 hours and current positioning. Our tests of simple rules found no reliable edge after fees.

How often does it update?

Every minute, from public Binance data. Open the page in a visible tab and it refreshes itself.
