Forex: coming soon
The section will be built the same way as Crypto: Ideas, Journal, Research. For now there is no data and no ideas, and we show nothing just for appearances.
What is needed to launch
- A quote source. Candles for currency pairs with at least several years of history (for example Dukascopy, OANDA or MT5). The source has not been chosen yet.
- A list of pairs and timeframes. Majors and a few crosses; timeframes and trading sessions will be defined at launch.
- Costs. The broker's spread and commission instead of 0.08% per round trip as in crypto.
- The same testing. Rules fixed in advance, train/test split by time, the number of variants tried is accounted for. No promises of returns.
How forex differs from crypto
Forex has no single centralised order book: it is an over-the-counter market. Ideas about “walls in the order book” from crypto do not carry over. Instead, broker tick volumes, CME data on currency futures, COT reports and broker client positioning are possible.
